I have always had a love for writing. In 1993, I was published in a collection of short stories called “Sharing our Experience” by the Canadian Advisory Council on the Status of Women. It was very exciting, but I had a stronger desire to return to school for psychotherapy training at that time.
In 2000, I took a course in writing short stories at the University of Toronto with Kent Nussey. This is when my fictional writing really began. I wrote more and pursued more studies, completing the Creative Writing program through The Humber School for Writers in 2002. My mentor was Olive Senior. During this process, my manuscript began to take shape. I had my manuscript reviewed by Sarah Sheard in 2007 and I also attended a writers group with her. After much writing and re-writing –- and brooding — it was edited for the final time in 2013. I hope you enjoy the book!
